The context
Young Muslims brings young people together through Islamic mentorship, friendship, recurring programs, events, and retreats. My formal regional responsibility is in the East Valley; alongside that work, I am helping develop YM’s presence elsewhere in Arizona.
My contribution
- Coordinate East Valley youth programming, events, retreats, and volunteer teams.
- Support Islamic mentorship and leadership development, giving young people opportunities to take responsibility.
- Help advance West Valley and Tucson expansion, alongside YM ASU chapter development and university outreach.
Selected outcomes
The current direction is geographic and organizational growth: East Valley, West Valley, Tucson, and Arizona State University. Expansion work is ongoing; each community needs relationships and chapter infrastructure that can last.
